SUMMARY:Doug Scott CBE Presentation 'The Hard Road to Everest' with Paul 'tut' Braithwaite at the Siabod Cafe
DESCRIPTION:We are delighted to welcome Doug Scott CBE back to the Cafe again this Autumn. Doug will be presenting ‘The Hard Road to Everest’ covering part 1 of his Autobiography ‘Up And About’ which was published in 2016 a book which I read avidly & was seriously marked by his recollection of detail & candid telling of his motivations\, experiences & personal relationships with those he came into contact with\, I was left itching for the second volume to come along soon. The presentation will cover Doug’s formative years up to & including his ascent of Everest (the hard way) in 1977 with Dougal Haston. We are also delighted to welcome back Paul Braithwaite who will add contributions within the presentation itself to help offer further insight into some of the experiences they shared. \nDuring the evening Doug will be selling signed copies of the book together with copies of his latest book ‘The Ogre’\, another riveting read which almost sadly for me has delayed the publishing of the 2nd Volume of his Autobiography. He will also have other Nepalese artefacts available for sale too. \nThe last two years we have sold out so to be sure of a seat please book early\, payment is required in advance & as ever all proceeds from our ticket sales will be going to Doug’s charity Community Action Nepal.
